Ants Extermination
Among the most frequent home invaders that we see in pest management are ants. The majority of individuals have trouble keeping ants out of their houses. Ant repellents that are DIY in nature typically fail to keep ants away. You need a good ant exterminator if you want to regularly get rid of ants.
We can help with that. The best ant pest treatment business in the Pacific Northwest is Insight Pest Solutions. Insight Pest Solutions offers a very potent ant treatment that eliminates not just the ants you can see in your house but the complete ant colony.
Along with the high caliber of our products, you can be certain that Insight Pest Solutions’ skilled and certified ant exterminators will provide you with excellent service. Our staff of exterminators, also known as service technicians, will treat you with respect, take excellent care of your house, and help you better understand our products.
Our Ant Treatment
In an ant colony there are worker ants, drone ants, and the queen. The ants you see around your home are almost always the worker ants. Drone ants rarely leave the colony, and the queen ant never leaves the protected and hidden space. Insight pest control commercial treats ants using an effective method lacing the workers with bait that they then take back to the colony, killing the queen and the rest of the ants from within.
If you have visible ants at the time of our service, our trained exterminator will follow the trail of ants to see where they are coming from to get an idea of where the colony is located. We treat on a quarterly basis, but when you have our subscription, you can get treated anytime in between those 4 services at no additional charge.
What Type Of Ants Do You Have?
Here are the most common ants found in the Pacific Northwest to keep an eye out for:
Carpenter Ants
These ants can be shades of brown, black, or red, but the first thing you will notice is that they are larger than most ants. They can cause severe structural damage, usually starting off in wet, decayed wood then spreading to undamaged, dry wood. It is important to treat at the first sign of carpenter ants.
Pavement Ants
Pavement ants are notorious for their appetites and will eat anything, including cheese, meat, bread, fruit, and other insects. Identifying them may be tricky as they are hard to spot, but they are usually small, brown, and linger close to bricks, concrete or pavement.
Thatching Ants
Often mistaken for Carpenter Ants, Thatching Ants come in black, brown, and red shades, and range from 4 to 9mm in size. While they typically eat plants, these ants can also eat other insects.
Moisture Ants
This is actually a collective name which includes a number of different species. Usually yellow or black, moisture ants are regularly around 3 to 4 mm in length with the females being larger. If crushed, these ants release a citrus-like odor.

How Often Do We Treat For Ants?
Following the initial clearance, we would recommend treating your home once every quarter. This reduces the likelihood of a re-infestation and allows us to take out any surviving ants before they have the opportunity to recolonize. Even if you aren’t seeing ants, that quarterly treatment helps prevent them; so rather than trying to solve the problem, we will be preventing it all together.
As mentioned before, we are happy to treat between quarters if you have any concerns. It takes 10-14 days for our products to take full effect, so after being treated, wait those 2 weeks before scheduling any other follow-ups. Our priority is clearing your home of ants and keeping it ant free.
